This handmade raw pyrite necklace is a one-of-a-kind piece created from a natural mineral found near the Kiruna mine in northern Sweden. The stone was collected during a walk by my father-in-law, a lifelong rock and mineral enthusiast, and later gifted to me to transform into jewelry.
I chose Argentium sterling silver for the setting to protect the raw pyrite while allowing its natural, unpolished form to remain the focus. Every element of this necklace was made by hand, respecting the stone’s original shape and character rather than altering it to fit a trend.
Once completed, the necklace was gifted back to his wife, turning a found mineral into a meaningful piece of wearable art. This design reflects my approach to jewelry making: honoring nature, craftsmanship, and the personal stories behind each material.
