Vintage Skeleton Key Steampunk chocker necklace leather and sterling silver. Steampunk jewelry by Arctida.

I love making Steampunk jewelry. Not because it is such a difference in making *regular* jewelry and Steampunk-themed one but because me and sis get to cosplay for the model shot. It is always so much fun to pick out the clothes, put on the make up and making the shots for Steampunk! So here is my latest one :)

I'm the photographer, jewelry designer, make up and etc and my little sister is the model. The ensemble was assembled by me and most of the parts are vintage clothing (except of the corset). The top hat being the oldest and dating back to 18th century Paris!

a little bit about the necklace - the focal part of this Steampunk choker is beautiful vintage Skeleton Key with a wonderful age patina and character that you just won't get from a reproduction key. I handcrafted the choker part from leather cord and sterling silver wire. The necklace fastens with a lobster clasp and extension chain.

Darlene - Gil Elvgren pin-up girls inspired necklace in 14K gold filled with Citrine, Garnet and Rubies

This week EST challenge's theme was "Gil Elvgren pin-up" hosted by oneperfectday.

After checking out his work I’ve got inspiration to make something gorgeous and sparkly for those beautiful cleavages that his girls have :) Off course it had to be in red and gold tones as it seems to be an appropriate color combination for pin up in my opinion :) So here is my Darlene – Champagne Citrine, Garnet, Gold and Ruby coiled artisan necklace.

Perhaps something this girl wouldn’t mind wearing… :)

My Destash Shop is OPEN for business :)

I have wanted to do theis for ages but now I've finally taken time and opened a destash shop on Etsy, ArctidasSupplies. For those of you who may not know the term, it refers to the crafting supplies and sundries that a person collects. It can also refer to items that can be reused in projects (extra pieces of fabric, random buttons, etc.).

Like many artists and crafters, I've collected a huge pile of beads and findings hoping to use them in various projects. Also, like many, these items fill a lot of space and will probably never get used by me. So, I decided to find them new homes with people who may actually put them to good use! :)

In my new shop you will find my tutorials, high quality precious/semiprecious gemstones, steampunk vintage findings, pearls and metal findings, both handmade by me and commercial. If you are looking for something to inspire your next project, please stop by :)
