Handmade trinket dish Abstract home decor Glass ring dish Tea light holder

My latest passion involves crafting fused glass trinket dishes and tea light holders. They provide the perfect opportunity to experiment with new techniques without the risk of wasting too much glass in case of any mishaps. Allow me to share my latest creation with you.

In this piece, I combined Bullseye's Petrified Wood with Robin's Egg Blue glass. Together, these two colors produced an astonishing chemical reaction that I had heard a lot about and couldn't resist trying for myself. The melding of Bullseye's Petrified Wood, known for its rich, earthy tones reminiscent of ancient wood turned to stone, with the delicate and soothing hue of Robin's Egg Blue, resulted in a captivating interplay of colors.

The heat of the kiln brought these elements together, giving rise to a mesmerizing dance of swirls and patterns on the surface of the glass. The outcome turned my humble trinket dish into a true work of art, capturing the essence of nature's wonders in a compact form.

Handmade sterling silver rings inspired by northern nature

A selection of artisan silver rings inspired by nature that I’ve made...Some are made with traditional silversmithing techniques, some are metal clay rings and the one that looks like a lucky clover is a wire wrapped ring. I like mixing the techniques but my favorite one is using the metal clay as it gives me more freedom to create different shapes, textures and patterns.

Argentium sterling silver wide ring band with abstract Celtic inspired pattern.

New shiny ring in my shop! This time it is a hand forged massive textured Argentium sterling silver ring band with abstract Celtic inspired pattern. As it is Argentium silver and not traditional sterling silver the band it self and the pattern were fused and not soldered in place. Which is what I like so much about Argentium and off course the fact that it is a tarnish-resistant sterling silver that is 100% recycled.

Nature engagement ring Twig Ring with genuine Garnet Tree bark textured Pagan wedding band

I've been making a lot of nature inspired rings lately and I wanted to show my latest custom order engagement ring. The ring is hand-carved from Precious Metal Clay Sterling 960, tree bark textured, polished and in the middle I've set a genuine Garnet gemstone. The ring was inspired by my Frost ring so I photographed them together to show you the likeness and the difference :)

Green gemstone flower ring Prasiolite Peridot wire wrapped sterling silver ring - Gemstone flower collection by Arctida

For the past couple of years I've been making jewelry using mostly metal clay and traditional silversmiths techniques but I haven't stopped with wire wrapping completely. It was the first technique that I've learned in jewelry making and it will always have a special place in my heart :)

So here is a another example of my wire wrapped creations. This one is a gorgeous Prasiolite (aka Green Amethyst) and Peridot gemstone flower attached to woven wire wrapped sterling silver base. The gemstone flower is one of my favorite designs and even though I’ve already done dozens variation (some examples of my Gemstone Flowers collection), I'm still surprised how different the flowers look with various gems. The woven ring base was made with a guidance of Gosia Domańska's wonderful ring tutorial.

Mint druzy ring Sterling silver and mint green druzy Quartz ring - Lindelle

Here is a forth piece from my exam work for Precious Metal Clay certification. This time it is a rustic nature inspired Druzy ring. The ring is tree bark textured to match that beautiful mint green cabochon and looks like something a druid or an pagan priestess would wear or at least I imagine it so :)

Here is a second piece from my exam work for Precious Metal Clay certification. This time it is a large fine silver cocktail ring with gorgeous Dichroic glass cab. The pretty green blue pink ring is very season appropriate to post on the first day of Spring, me think :)

Frost Ring - Tree Bark Ring handcarved textured sterling silver 960 and Cubic zirconia. Handmade metal clay jewelry by Arctida.

It is winter already in Northern Sweden, so its not surprisingly that my latest inspiration comes from frost covered tree branches. This time I've chosen to add a bit of bling bling, a round brilliant-cut Cubic zirconia that sparkles the same way frost does when the light hits it just right :) The ring is hand-carved from Precious Metal Clay Sterling 960.

A lot has happened since January, the time of my last blog-post. We've moved to another town called Luleå. It has been a huge change in our lives moving from central Stockholm apartment to countryside house in the Northern Sweden :) My new garden, nearby forest, the sea and Northern Nature in general has inevitably influenced my new designs... in my new house I have a new studio so stay tuned as more of my lovelies are on the way :)

Here is the first one - hand carved Tree bark open ring made of sterling silver (Precious Metal Clay Sterling 960).

Elsie - Rock Crystal Quartz open ring Argentium sterling silver ring. Handmade gemstone jewelry by Arctida.

I love making all kind of jewelry but I have to admit making rings has been my least favorite part. Don't get me wrong, making a ring for my self or simply learning a new technique has been fun but making it for a customer is a different story. I was always so nervous if it would fit right. Anyhow to overcome my fears I decided to try stuff outside my comfort zone and that is what I've been doing for the past year, making lots and lots of new rings with different techniques.

So here is the first ring of many to come. Rock Crystal Quartz and Argentium sterling silver ring. I actually combined two different techniques in this one, both soldering and fusing were used to make this ring.

Wire Wrapped and Handforged Rings - My first attempt in Copper and Gold Filled

I have finally bought ring mandrel! Yay :) So here are my first attempts at making wire wrapped rings. The first one is classical spiral ring in Gold Filled.

The second one is an improvisation of the spiral ring. I tried to make a Rose in copper :)

The third one is a very simple adjustable triple band men's ring in Gold Filled. The ring has been hammered for texture.

I've also made a couple of rings that are more complicated and have Gemstones incorporated in them. I'll be posting pictures here very soon :) So stay tuned...
